The Litex CDD
is a new, inexpensive product, which significantly reduces hazardous emissions
generated by gasoline-powered automobile engines.
Volume price of the CDD to automotive manufacturers is expected to be less than $100. The new device is both readily installed on new cars during assembly and suitable for retrofitting older cars. The CDD is a low-power device that will operate at approximately 25 watts -- less than the amount of power required to illuminate a car's brake light. The CDD is based on a technology initiated and patented by the Lockheed Martin Corp. Litex has exclusive rights to the Lockheed Martin patent, and has further developed the technology with additional research and patents of its own. The product has been undergoing extensive testing since 1997 in the laboratories of Arthur D. Little, Inc. of Cambridge, Massachusetts, a renowned research and development firm. Additional testing is being conducted by international automobile manufacturers and component suppliers.
